February 1, 2025
The fifth batch of trainees from FCM Co., Ltd. marked the successful completion of their four-month Intensive Nihongo Course with a closing ceremony held last February 1, 2025, at the Nihongo Center Foundation Manila. This 492-hour intensive course, held six days a week from Monday to Saturday, was designed for trainees bound for employment in Japan. Using a situation-based learning approach, the course emphasizes practical communication skills essential for both workplace and everyday interactions in Japan.

The ceremony commenced with welcome remarks from Mrs. Carmencita ‘Keli’ Biscarra, Faculty Development Manager at Nihongo Center Foundation, Inc. In her speech, Mrs. Biscarra recognized the trainees’ progress throughout the program. She acknowledged the challenges and sacrifices they will face while adapting to life in a new country and interacting with the local community.

After Mrs. Biscarra’s warm message, this was followed by the awarding of certificates led by Mrs. Glenda ‘Gennie’ T. Ferma, Administrator at the Nihongo Center Foundation, Inc.
After receiving their certificates, eleven FCM trainees from the batch took turns delivering their self-composed graduation speeches. Each trainee shared their experiences during the program, reflecting on how much they had learned despite starting with little or no knowledge of the Japanese language. They also expressed their heartfelt gratitude to their teachers for their kindness and guidance.
After the trainees’ speeches, representatives from FCM Co. Ltd and EDI Staffbuilders Intl. Inc. gave their congratulatory messages to the graduates. Ms. Rizzalyne Astor, Senior Recruitment Consultant of EDI Staffbuilders Intl. Inc., took the stage to express her appreciation to the Nihongo Center Foundation, Inc. She commended the trainees for their hard work and assured them that they had earned this opportunity through their efforts. She also encouraged them to embrace the new beginnings that awaited them in Japan.

Afterward, Mr. Ronnie N. Ferma, Resident Agent of FCM Co., Ltd., also delivered his congratulatory remarks. He expressed his gratitude to the NCF teachers and FCM for providing the trainees with this valuable experience. While commending the trainees on their successful completion of the program, he also took the opportunity to remind them of the expectations placed on them once they begin working in Japan. He urged them to stay focused on their purpose for being there and to keep their families in mind as motivation for a better life in the future.

Mr. Ferma’s speech was followed by a photo session and a salo-salo, marking the end of a successful closing ceremony.
